COUNTDOWN TO NIS2: HOW PREPARED ARE YOU?
16.07.2024 07:00

Have you already heard about the NIS2 Directive of the European Parliament that comes into force on October 18, 2024? The NIS2 Directive is a significant update to set measures for a high common level of cybersecurity across critical infrastructure sectors such as entities that provide DNS services.

Attention: Also companies who are located outside the EU, but have customers within, have to fulfill these requirements.

How do you know that you are affected from the NIS2 Directive?

X Do you have customers within the EU?

Ο Are you providing publicly available recursive domain name resolution services for internet end-users or authoritative domain name resolution services?

Ο Are you providing domain name registration services?

If you can answer at least one of the additional points with a “Yes” you are quite likely affected by the NIS2 Directive and it is time to act quickly.

Essential steps to become NIS2 compliant:

According to NIS2, essential and important entities need to implement effective technical, operational, and organizational measures to safeguard the security of their network and information systems such as:

·        Supply chain security

·        Policies and procedures regarding the use of cryptography and encryption

·        Basic cyber hygiene practices and cybersecurity training

Please note these are only excerpts from the NIS2 Directive, no claim to completeness. You can find the whole NIS2 Directive on the website of the European Union.
